Little Legs Nursery and Pre School's Garden

The Garden / Outside learning enviroment

The children have over half an acre of freedom to run around in, with many nooks and crannies in Little Legs Nursery and Pre School's garden to investigate. We have a fenced area for our younger children with lots of stimulating toys and games and then a very large open space for all to enjoy.

We have a mixture of toy cars, trikes, bikes and scooters for all ages. The children can sail away in our resident boat or play at the beach in our sand pit, along with using a wealth of natural materials that we gather as we go! Within this environment the children get the chance to develop their motor skills, balance and co ordination, as well as having fantastic fun. They can explore our whole garden using our Forest School Aproach with lots of trees and wild flowers to enjoy and play beneath under our beautiful willow tree.

Our older children get the chance to do a bit of gardening as well. We plant flowers and grow vegetables and fruit with the able assistance of Alan and Sue at Billericay Plant Nursery next door. It is a wonderful chance for our children to learn about how things grow and to see the produce eventually arrive on their dinner plates!
