Southend Nursery - Our Staff

Jo Callaghan & Tina Lassman

Tina (Owner & Director)

Tina had a dream to create a nursery with a difference and as a local girl, what better place to open than on the Billericay / Hutton border. With a wealth of experience and training, not least with having her own children, her dream has been realised with the birth of Little Legs Nursery and Pre-School. She has created a happy, stimulating and loving environment for the children and we believe you will feel the same.

We care as much about our parents as we do our children and we are always on hand to help – with this in mind we have had CCTV cameras installed for your peace of mind so that you can log on whenever your child is with us and you can watch them live whilst they are here. Please feel free to call us and come and have look. We would love to show you round!

Sarah

Craig (Area Co-ordinator & Manager of Hutton)

I have proudly been a Area Coordinator and manager at Little Legs Nursery since August 2013. My career in childcare began  2006 and since then have gained lots of different childcare experience and knowledge as well as qualifying in my CCLD NVQ Level 2 & 3.

My position within Little Legs allows me to work closely with all our hard working little Legs Nursery managers across all settings, ensuring quality childcare from all our staff at our nurseries. We are always looking for ways to improve our service making sure it's a pleasure for our children, parents and staff to be a part of Little Legs Nursery.

As well as being the Area Coordinator, I am the proud Manager of Little Legs Hutton and have been a manager at Little Legs Sittingoburne too. I joined Sittingbourne when it was only 3 months old and it gives me great job satisfaction to see how far it has grown with our children and staff.

I have been a practitioner since 2009 over this time I have gained lots of qualifications and experience

Which room are you in? I am the nursery’s Manager and I also oversee the Whole nursery.

What do you most enjoy about being a practitioner?
The best part of my job is watching both the children and my staff develop and progress. When a child starts here from a young age and eventually move onto school, it is a very proud and emotional time knowing myself and my team have been part of such an amazing milestone of their life.

What's your favourite time of the nursery day?
My favourite part of the day is meal times. Watching the children sat together around a table interacting about their day so far and what has been going on in their lives around them. Meal times are such an important time to build on the children's language and communication skills.

What's your favourite nursery activity?
My favourite nursery activity is taking the children out on outings and trips. Watching their little faces glow with excitement.
